Black Seed Dumplings - Traditional Thai Dessert from Bangkok

Bualoi Nga Dam – Rice Dumpling Stuffed with Black Sesame Seed in Ginger and Brown Sugar Syrup

I had a lot going on lately and was not able to blog as often! but this is so special i could not wait to post about it before going back to Kuwait :)
Generally, dumplings are not my thing; and for dessert it couldn't be remotely of interest ! much of a surprise comes this delightful ( <-- i hate to use that word btw) dessert, but it truly was ! what i like the most about it is that its (A) Traditional Thai dessert (B) Warm (C) effortlessly balanced in taste and in color.
i thought this was worthy of a post of its own, i'll post about the entire meal in a separate post.
this is served at Spice Market Restaurant @ The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok

Cyclical Ketogenic Diet made me do it!

Caramel Berry trio made by yours truely!

I was on a Cyclical Ketogenic Diet, and my sugar and carbs cravings were up the roof!; because i was at the 4th day of the cycle! However, i was very committed to the diet, and all i did was make this dessert but I never tried it! However, my family did and they loved it! :)
I was in the mood of something sweet with caramel, berries, and cake and i ended up with two!

what you see above is made, more or less; of the following:
  • 3 types of berries.
  • Filipino chocolate marble sponge cake.
  • English custard.
  • Caramel.
  • Clear jelly.
  • Caramelized Sugar.
All these ingredients can be found at the Sultan Center!

    PAUL - Savory, Sweet & Bitter !

    Cheese Croissant

    Raspberry frangipane tart

    Black Coffee
Next time you crave a good, "light", crisp, flaky croissant, i suggest you go to one of the more under rated bakeries in Kuwait; PAUL ! we went there earlier today for a Quick snack/late breakfast before finishing off some errands at the Avenues Mall, and i must say I'm very critical of croissants made any where out of France because most bakeries, no matter how outrageously French their name might sound; make croissants either soggy or greasy or with sponge like consistency!(Ok, that may have sounded a bet far-fetched but nevertheless) PAUL croissants were as close as one can get to the real thing! i ordered one, first bite; ordered a second one right away! it was that good!
and while your at it, get the Raspberry almond tart (seen above) and wash it down with plain black coffee, i ran out of words as to why you should , its just good! trust me!

    Kunafa

Kunafa, for those of you who don't know it; is a traditional middle eastern very sweet dessert made of fine vermicelli pastry and cheese. it comes in a variety of ways most common are "rough" Kunafa and "fine" Kunafa. the best in my opinion is Rough one made with Nabulsi cheese.

For those of you who "claim" to know what Kunafa is, I say you don't ! unless you've had the rough Kunafa made by Al Baal (كنافة عالبال) !! it is made with real nabulsi cheese ! its the real thing !! If you like Kunafa, you will love the Rough Kunafa from Al Baal

their phone number is : 22636703

    Caramel Bakery - Raja'EE

    Raja'EE Dessert
I don't care about most peoples favorite @ Caramel Bakery {Pumpkin Cake}, this one is by far the most comforting chocolate dessert in Kuwait. it makes one feel safe for some odd reason!
    I prefer it heated !
